Four ALS from James Parker to Jared Ingersoll, discussing the proposed sale of a plot of land in New Haven, the "Holt" affair, and mentioning [Benjamin] Franklin and early printing in New Haven, 1767 Jun 24, Apr 1 and 6, and Mar 16, New York. Three of these letters are printed in the "Ingersoll Papers" in vol. IX of the New Haven Colony Historical Society; extracts from them are included in Mrs. Winnifred R. Included are accounts of Thomas Green while a partner of Holt, New Haven, 1760-64. Financial account of Dr. James Parker & Co. with the General Post Office, in several unidentified hands, New Haven, 1755-1763. Included are the accounts of J. Holt and Mr. Green; Benjamin Franklin, then Postmaster General, is mentioned. Endorsed: "Post office acct. John Holt" and "Post Office Account against J. Parker and Holt," in two unidentified hands. Financial account with Jared Ingersoll for postage, paper, etc., written and signed by John Holt for Parker & Company, covering the period from 1755 to 1758, New Haven.
